From 29 September to 1 October 2026, the Palais de l’Europe in Menton, France, will host the second edition of the AnaEE Science Conference (ANAEESC26), the flagship international event promoted by AnaEE-ERIC (Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystems – European Research Infrastructure Consortium). The conference will bring together leading scientists, policymakers and stakeholders to discuss the future of ecosystem research and resilience in the face of global environmental change.
Under the theme “Ecosystem Science for a Resilient Future”, the three-day conference will focus on experimental ecology, climate adaptation, sustainable agroecology, forest ecosystems, aquatic-terrestrial interactions and innovative approaches to ecosystem modelling and data integration.
The scientific programme will feature seven thematic sessions led by internationally renowned keynote speakers, including Prof. Michael Bahn (University of Innsbruck), Prof. Marie-Hélène Jeuffroy (INRAE), Prof. Bart Muys (KU Leuven), Dr. Alessandro Oggioni (Italian National Research Council – CNR) and Dr. Nathalie Hilmi (The Scientific Centre of Monaco).
In addition to plenary sessions, the conference will host workshops and policy dialogue activities focused on FAIR and Open Science practices, stakeholder engagement, technology foresight and research infrastructures cooperation. A dedicated policy session will also be organised in collaboration with Plan Bleu.
A major novelty of the 2026 edition will be the launch of the inaugural AnaEE Environmental Rising Star Award, aimed at outstanding postdoctoral researchers within four years of PhD completion. The award includes a dedicated presentation slot during the conference, financial support for a research visit to an AnaEE facility abroad and international recognition within the ecosystem science community.
Abstract submissions and early bird registration are open until 15 June 2026. The conference is expected to attract participants from across Europe and beyond, strengthening collaboration among research infrastructures, universities and institutions working on ecosystem experimentation and climate resilience.
More information, registration details and the full scientific programme are available on AnaEE-ERIC.
