From 8 to 10 April 2026, CIHEAM Bari participated in the 5th International Project Meeting of the BestHONEY project, held in Compiègne, France, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme.
The meeting brought together universities, public authorities and project partners from across Europe with the shared objective of strengthening the beekeeping value chain through cooperation, innovation and the exchange of knowledge.
Representing CIHEAM Bari, Dr. Nuray Baser delivered a presentation on European Union honey regulations and their recent amendments, highlighting the importance of quality standards, transparency and innovation in supporting the sustainable development of the sector.
Hosted by the Université de Technologie de Compiègne and opened by Rector Prof. Dr. Claire Rossi, the programme combined institutional discussions with technical visits to local production sites, including a beekeeping farm in Vieux-Moulin and a honey packaging facility in Ménévillers. These visits offered participants the opportunity to observe best practices and gain direct insight into the expertise and commitment underpinning honey production.
CIHEAM Bari’s participation in the meeting confirms its ongoing commitment to promoting international cooperation, capacity building and innovation in support of sustainable and resilient agri-food systems.
