The project aims to strengthen cooperation between the countries of the MENA and Balkan regions in the water sector through a multi-stakeholder process focused on sustainable water resources management. This initiative is being developed in view of the first "Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum", which will be held in Rome in October 2026.

Six events and meetings will be organized in Italy and in the participating countries, involving key stakeholders in the sustainable management of water resources. These events will promote dialogue, discussion, and the exchange of good practices and critical issues.

The project also includes participation in major events related to water management in both the participating countries and across Europe.

In parallel, sectoral analyses and studies will be conducted. This includes investigative and preparatory work aimed at developing future guidelines for the rational use of water resources, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean region. Additionally, two in-depth documents will be produced: one on the use of non-conventional water in agriculture, and another on "Water Risk Prevention".

Expected Result 1

Promoted a Multi-stakeholder Process of dialogue, discussion, exchange of best practices and critical point between Countries, with a focus on Mediterranean region, on sustainable water resources management.

Expected Result 2

Strengthened synergy and coherence at an international level in the water sector in the framework of preparation for the first "Euro Mediterranean Water Forum", to guarantee organizational support to the event.
