General Information
The ORPH-CROP initiative was launched as a synergic and complementary action to the SUSTLIVES project (SUSTaining and improving local crop patrimony in Burkina Faso and Niger for better LIVes and EcoSystems), funded by the European Union – DG-INTPA and implemented by AICS within the framework of the EU DeSIRA initiative (Development-Smart Innovation through Research in Agriculture).
The initiative contributes to the transition towards more sustainable and climate-resilient local agricultural and food systems, ensuring food security while stimulating the economies of rural communities through the promotion and valorization of NUS value chains in Burkina Faso and Niger.
This goal will be pursued through the achievement of the following results:
General Objective
To contribute to improving the state of food and nutrition security of populations in Burkina Faso and Niger.
Specific Objective
To strengthen climate resilience and sustainability in the agri-food systems of rural and peri-urban communities in Niger and Burkina Faso.
