Robocoop-EU Meetings & 20th Anniversary of EU Bioeconomy | 7th Summer School on Circular Development

Under the Framework of Robocoop-EU project General Assembly, supporting circular bio-based innovation across Europe, CIHEAM Bari team recently completed a mission, from 1 to 3 July 2025 with key engagements in Kozani and Thessaloniki. 

Main Activities (1–2 July, Kozani):

CIHEAM Bari team composed by Dr. M. EL Moujabber, Dr. N. Driouech and Dr. F. Bottalico, had presented and illustrated state of play and steps further of their leading tasks respectively related to WP2 “Biomass availability, stabilisation and pre-treatment”.   WP5 “Final applications formulation and validation”, and WP7 “Cooperative business model development “.

The strategic discussions and important exchanges were held among all partners, circa 50 participants, work packages and task leaders to align upcoming project steps and collaborations.

Highlights include :

  • Thematic workshops (UNINET, TwInn4MicroUp, Peloponnese Hub, CluBE and Robocoop-EU)
  • Networking opportunities with EU stakeholders
  •  A special hybrid event commemorating 20 years of bioeconomy in Europe

Panelist role: Greece Italy and Spain HUBS (3 July, Thessaloniki),

Alongside the 7th Summer School on Bio-Circular Economy and Sustainable Development, Dr. N. Driouech contributed as a Panelist to the International Workshop sharing insights on Apulia-HUB regional workshops and Living Labs as innovation platforms for scalable solutions aligned with EU Green Deal goals. He highlighted the relevance of promoting and supporting territorial bioeconomy with a focus on olive and wine value chains.

This year’s 7th edition marks a special milestone by engaging with leading researchers, policymakers, innovators, and students from across Europe in an exciting week of knowledge-sharing, field visits, and community-building!

The mission highlighted promising avenues to reinforce CIHEAM Bari’s active participation in international EU-funded projects, particularly those supporting sustainable, circular, and cooperative agri-food systems.
