The PROTECHMED Call for Best Practices is now officially open. The initiative aims to collect and enhance the most innovative and successful experiences in sustainable protected horticulture throughout the Mediterranean region.

Co-funded by the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, PROTECHMED seeks to drive advancements in greenhouse agriculture by promoting more efficient, digital, and resource-conscious solutions. The goal is to create a Mediterranean Catalogue of Best Practices, a shared tool designed for farmers, companies, and research bodies operating in the sector.

Who Can Participate

The call is open to:

• farmers and greenhouse operators,
• agricultural entrepreneurs,
• experts from research institutions,
• startups and cooperatives working in innovative agriculture.

The project is looking for concrete practices delivering measurable results in areas such as:

• water efficiency (e.g., smart irrigation systems),
• integrated pest management in greenhouses,
• energy sustainability (photovoltaic or agrivoltaic systems),
• digitalization and smart technologies for improved crop management.
