CIHEAM Bari celebrates the graduation of 12 students from the Sustainable Agroecosystems and Resilience (SARe) Master Programme

27 October 2026

From scientific research to practical experience, the graduates of the Sustainable Agroecosystems and Resilience Master Programme complete their academic journey, strengthening their expertise in sustainable agricultural systems.

How can agricultural systems respond to environmental challenges while ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources? This question lies at the heart of the Sustainable Agroecosystems and Resilience (SARe) Master Programme at CIHEAM Bari, which trains future professionals to address the complex challenges facing agricultural and rural systems.

Today, 12 students celebrate the completion of their academic journey after presenting their research findings before an international jury. Their work explores approaches to sustainable agroecosystem management and the resilience of agricultural systems in a changing environmental context, reflecting the programme’s commitment to connecting scientific knowledge with the development of practical solutions.

A key component of the programme is the internship, which enables students to apply the theoretical and methodological knowledge acquired during their studies in professional and research environments. Through this experience, they engage with real-world challenges, strengthen their technical skills and gain practical insights into the application of scientific approaches to sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.

The integration of academic learning, research and practical experience supports the development of professionals equipped to contribute to the sustainability and resilience of agricultural and rural systems.

The graduating class brings together students from Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, Malawi, Morocco, Nigeria, Syria and Tunisia, reflecting the international dimension of CIHEAM Bari’s educational mission and the value of scientific exchange across different geographical and professional contexts. With seven women among the 12 graduates, women represent 58% of the class, highlighting their presence in advanced education and professional training in the agricultural sector.

The completion of the SARe Master Programme marks an important step in the graduates’ professional development, providing them with scientific expertise and practical skills to address emerging challenges in agriculture, environmental sustainability and rural development.

Congratulations to our students!
