Jahorina, 28 May 2025 – The final conference of the ANC BiH Project – Sustainable Economic Development and Environmental Protection in Areas With Natural Constraints was held at Hotel Vučko, in the presence of national institutions, international partners, and experts.

On this occasion, the new project ProBio BiH – Promoting Local Biodiversity through Nature-Based Innovation in the Agri-Food Sector was officially launched. Both initiatives are funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) through CIHEAM Bari, in partnership with institutions at all governance levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Government and diplomatic representatives highlighted the projects’ strong impact on rural development, institutional strengthening, and alignment with EU standards. ProBio BiH will focus on biodiversity protection, innovation, and youth entrepreneurship, with training activities targeting over 200 civil servants and researchers, and direct support to 100 agricultural producers and start-ups.

The successfully completed ANC BiH project invested over 1 million BAM in 11 municipalities, delivering infrastructure, training, socio-economic analysis, and local development strategies.

CIHEAM Bari, active in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2000, reaffirms its commitment to inclusive and sustainable rural development across the region.
