CIHEAM Bari is launching the third edition of the High-level Specialised Training Course addressed to the Member States of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Structured as an annual programme with a thematic focus defined for each year, the 2026 edition is dedicated to the safety and resilience of coastal communities in the IORA region.

It promotes an integrated approach to coastal management, strengthening technical and institutional capacities in environmental risk assessment, pollution management, ecosystem restoration, governance and climate adaptation.

Enhance participants’ capacity to identify, monitor and manage environmental risks affecting coastal communities.

Apply scientific knowledge, practical tools and governance approaches to reduce pollution, restore ecosystems and strengthen climate resilience.
