Re.FOOD is a technical assistance project funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MAECI, with the aim of supporting the Resilient Local Food Supply Chains Alliance, RLFSC Alliance, to enhance the global dissemination and effectiveness of resilient and sustainable local food systems.
The Re.FOOD project falls within the political and operational leadership Italy assumed within the RLFSC Alliance during the UN Food System Summit in 2023.
The project aims to:
1) highlighting virtuous Italian and international examples to further connect key actors within the international community and reinforce sustainable local food systems,
2) facilitating knowledge exchange through the mapping and promotion of sustainable local food systems in Italy and third countries,
3) fostering collaboration with third countries of interest for Italian cooperation, enhancing the skills of public and private actors – both individual and collective - in the development of policies, governance systems, and practices for sustainable local food systems.
CIHEAM Bari and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa oversee the implementation of the Re.FOOD project in the next two years (2025-2026) and support the consolidation of sustainable local food systems for the fulfilment of SDGs by 2030.
